Why Are Medical Missions Necessary?
It’s so easy for us to schedule an appointment with our doctor when we’re not feeling too well. We even complain about the situation, forgetting how lucky we are to be able to access medical attention right when we need it. Other people, in other parts of the world, would give anything to be given the opportunities we so easily take for granted.
It is known that in some places, lifesaving machines aren’t even an option. And, in order to see doctors or specialists, families would have to save money for many years. Once this realization dawns on you, you suddenly feel how blessed and fortunate you are to be gifted with the life that you have.
Over millions of people die because they can’t be given the proper medical attention. They succumb to diseases and conditions that could have been prevented with the right professionals, the ideal facilities, and proper education. It really is such a tragedy when you think about it. A sickness that, with the proper medical attention, could easily have been treated in a day or two, is already enough to take someone’s life in another part of the world.
These heart-wrenching situations led to countless medical outreaches all across the globe. Medical missions touch lives and bring help to the people who need it. They aim to alleviate the suffering of our underprivileged and grief-stricken brothers and sisters who lack the opportunities to pick themselves up and better their lives.
Through these projects, people who aren’t normally able to access quality medical and dental care, are able to have the chance to get themselves assessed and be provided with the proper treatments.
At (NDCA) NSU Development & Cultural Association – North America, we plan and organize medical missions to people in Nigeria and other parts of the world who lack the medical support to live a good life.
